Where it comes from
The letter b looks like a fist with the thumb sticking up; d on the left does the same for the other hand, as in d(・ω・)b. The ω mouth is a common, gentle Japanese kaomoji mouth.
When to use it
Use it to approve, agree, or praise someone. It is one of the safer kaomoji for casual work chat, though still informal.
