1. Who we are
Kawasuta is made and run by the Kawasuta team in Fukuoka, Japan (“we”). You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What stays on your device
These are saved only on your phone. They are not sent to us, and they are deleted when you delete the app.
- Favorites, recently copied faces and the kaomoji you made
- Settings such as language and start screen
- Hearts
- The list of players you blocked
- Whether you bought Remove Ads
3. What the app sends to our server
Online features need a small amount of data. It is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) in the Tokyo region.
- Anonymous ID: a random ID created automatically by Firebase Authentication. It is not linked to a name, email address or phone number.
- Leaderboards and league: once you have picked a nickname, each time you beat your own best in a game your nickname and score are saved, plus a one-line message if you write one. These are public — anyone can see them in the app and on this website. If you join the weekly league, your nickname and points appear in your group’s table.
- Friends and invites: your invite code, your friend list, and a profile your friends can see (nickname, best scores, play counts and when you last played). This profile is saved with your anonymous ID when you open the app, even before you have any friends. Only people you have become friends with can see it, and you can hide your records from friends in the app.
- Heart gifts: how many hearts were sent between you and a friend, and when.
- Copy counter: the app adds your copies to a shared total (“copied N times today”). Only the number is added.
- Reports: when you report a record (its nickname or message), we save which entry you reported together with your anonymous ID.
The app does not include an analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
4. Advertising
The app shows ads through AppLovin MAX. Google AdMob and other ad networks take part through it. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, these companies may collect:
- Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, advertising ID on Android)
- IP address and the approximate location derived from it
- Device model, operating system and language
- Which ads were shown and whether you tapped them
On iPhone, the advertising identifier is used only if you allow tracking when iOS asks. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before showing personalized ads. You can also limit ad personalization or reset your advertising ID in your device settings.
After you buy Remove Ads, the app no longer shows ads.
Each company handles this data under its own policy: AppLovin (https://www.applovin.com/privacy/) and Google (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
5. Purchases
Remove Ads is sold through the App Store or Google Play. Payment is handled by Apple or Google; we never receive your card or payment details. The app only remembers, on your device, that the purchase exists.
6. This website
The website has no accounts and no forms.
- Cloudflare delivers the site and gives us visit statistics that do not use cookies and do not identify you.
- One cookie, “lang”, remembers the language you picked.
- Your browser’s local storage keeps your best scores in the practice games. They are not sent anywhere.
- The leaderboards shown here are the public records described in section 3.
- When you start a game, your browser downloads font files from Google Fonts.
- Our server keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) for a short time, for security.
7. What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address, contacts, photos or precise location. We do not sell personal data.
8. Who we share data with
Only the service providers named above — Google (Firebase, AdMob), AppLovin and its advertising partners, Apple, Google Play and Cloudflare — and only as needed to run those features. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
9. Keeping and deleting your data
Data on your device is removed when you delete the app.
To have your nickname, records, profile and friend links removed from our server, email [email protected] with your invite code (shown on the invite screen in the app). We delete them within 30 days. Otherwise, online data is kept for as long as the feature it belongs to is running.
10. Children
Kawasuta is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has posted personal information, contact [email protected] and we will remove it.
11. Where data is processed
Our server data is stored in Japan. Advertising partners may process data in other countries, including the United States.
12. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or object to how it is used. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to [email protected].
13. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we post the new version on this page with a new date. We will announce important changes in the app or on this website.
