Where it comes from
The ¬ is the logical "not" sign from math; its hooked shape looks like an eye looking sideways under a lowered lid. The _ is a flat, unamused mouth.
When to use it
Use it when a friend's story sounds fishy, when someone makes an excuse, or as playful judgment. It can feel passive-aggressive, so avoid it in tense work chats.
Examples
- You "forgot" your wallet again? (¬_¬)
- Sure, you were studying all night (¬_¬)
